The preamp output allows you to connect an external amplifier. This link will bypass the line-level signal output from your receiver to your amplifier receiver.
You can use this output to connect to sub himself operated, if they do not, preamp out / preamp, loop. They know that when jumper cables from the preamp to the preamp, if you remove them you will not be able to use the amplifier receiver.
